Devices are listed only where a provider's own public sources name them. A device is hardware, not a technique. A listing shows what a provider publicly lists — not stock, regulatory availability or that it will be offered to a particular patient — and is not an endorsement of the device or the provider. LimbAtlas does not compare devices on safety, outcomes or regulatory status. Confirm current details directly with a provider. Illustrations are simplified editorial representations, not engineering drawings; where a device has no documented distinguishing visual features, its device-type illustration is used.

How it works, at a high level

The International Center for Limb Lengthening describes the Ilizarov external fixator as the original circular (ring) fixator.

The RNOH patient guide describes rings connected to the bone with wires and/or half pins, joined by straight rods.

Providers use “Ilizarov” both for this frame design and for the wider method of gradual bone lengthening. LimbAtlas lists a provider here only when its source names the frame or apparatus.
